Ride Mechanic Bike Syrup – Silent, Long-Lasting Chain Lubrication
At TrevsCycleShop NZ, we back products that solve real riding problems. Ride Mechanic Bike Syrup is a premium long-distance chain lubricant engineered to keep your drivetrain quiet, smooth, and protected over extended rides — without attracting road grime.
Formulated with a viscous, high-performance fluid, Bike Syrup is applied sparingly and slowly penetrates deep into the chain links, leaving a tenacious protective coating on both the internal and external surfaces of the chain. The result? A drivetrain that runs in stealth mode for hundreds of kilometres.
Proudly made in Mount Maunganui, New Zealand, Bike Syrup is trusted by long-distance road riders, commuters, and endurance cyclists who want reliability without constant re-application.

How to Use Bike Syrup (Best Results)
Application Instructions
-
Thoroughly degrease and dry chain, chainrings and cassette.
-
Shift into a commonly used gear ratio.
-
Locate the joining link as a start point.
-
Apply one drop on every 3 rollers.
-
Rotate cranks backwards for 20–30 revolutions.
-
In cold conditions, gently apply warm air to assist penetration.
-
Allow to stand for 10 minutes.
-
Ride in silence.
A full degrease is strongly recommended for first use to allow optimal penetration.
Performance in All Conditions
Bike Syrup forms a water-repellent fluid film that protects against:
-
Moisture ingress
-
Corrosion
-
Friction and drivetrain noise
For dry conditions, wiping surface residue before riding leaves the chain looking clean while lubrication remains active inside the links.
After wet rides, dry and re-lubricate promptly to maintain corrosion protection.
The Science Behind Bike Syrup (Why It’s So Quiet)
Bike Syrup uses extreme pressure boundary lubrication technology. Long-chain molecules bond to metal surfaces, forming a protective layer that prevents direct metal-to-metal contact — even under high load between chain pins and bushings.
This is the key reason Bike Syrup:
-
Reduces wear
-
Lowers friction
-
Eliminates drivetrain noise
