REVIEW: Squirt Chain lube
Posted by Trevor Barrett on
Okay, cycling fanatics, let's talk chain lube. We've all seen those pro peloton bikes with chains that look like they've been dragged through a coal mine. That's not grime, my friends, that's wax-based lube, and it's apparently the secret weapon for shaving precious seconds off those crucial race stages.
Now, I'm not a pro cyclist (shocking, I know!), but I do like my bike to run smoothly without a ton of fuss. Enter Squirt Lube.
Why Squirt? Here's the lowdown:
-
Long-lasting: Forget constantly reapplying lube. Squirt stays put through dusty gravel grinds and muddy trails, lasting way longer than any other lube I've tried.
-
Effortless application: No more greasy fingers and frantic wiping. Apply Squirt to a clean, dry chain, let it dry overnight, and you're good to go. It's that simple.
- More time for important things: Like coordinating my socks and gloves, obviously. But seriously, the easy application saves time and hassle.
Well, almost. Squirt isn't ideal for long bike packing trips where cleaning your chain regularly might be a challenge. Wax lube on a dirty chain? Recipe for disaster. In those cases, I stick to a traditional oil-based lube.
The Verdict:
For pretty much everything else - road rides, gravel adventures, even shredding at the bike park - Squirt is my go-to. It's durable, easy to use, and hey, maybe it even makes me a tiny bit faster. Who knows, maybe I'll finally beat my personal best on that local climb!
